What's tolerant about going out of my way to discuss this matter with you? Arguably, my life would have been both easier and more pleasant not to have bothered. If all I meant to do was blandly tolerate something I'm indifferent to, I could have done that without paying you the slightest bit of attention and tolerated your holding some irrelevant opinion in beautiful, golden silence.

I care about lots of things, I don't know. What sort of 'care about' are you talking about?

I don't know. Just - something you care about, that you decided you cared about, without anyone convincing you to care about it.

( objecting immediately— ) No one exists so singularly that no other person has anything to do with what we think. I don't believe that.

( eventually, grudgingly: ) People shouldn't hurt children. And no one set out to convince me the world shouldn't end, but I don't know if I can properly take credit for that one, either, because it isn't as if I came to the Inquisition willingly, but no one gave a fuck what I thought about it so I suppose I'm going to count that one too. Actually.
